In the old town, called ”Staufener Städtle”, many colourful shops invite visitors to make discoveries. During a leisurely stroll through the Staufener Städtle, you can take a glance at the impressive castle ruin on the castle hill at any time. Many roads lead to Schauinsland (a Black Forest mountain), but none is as beautiful as that through the air! The Schauinsland cable car, which was built in 1930 and has been re-built several times since then, transports its passengers over more than 720 metres in height to the mountain station at the top of Schauinsland in 20 minutes. Alsace (FR) and Basel (CH)  Basel [CH]You can reach Switzerland’s cultural capital in approximately 45 minutes by car. A visit to the zoological garden in Basel is an outing that is particularly worthwhile for families. Colmar [FR] Colmar is the jewel case among the Alsace towns. The district called ”Little Venice”, located on the river Lauch, is only one of many tourist attractions that can be visited in Colmar’s beautiful old town.
